CEREUS Poker Network
The CEREUS network is the result of the merger between two of online pokers biggest names, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet. The union of these two player bases has formed the 3rd largest poker network in the world. The massive project was over a year in the planning at Tokwiro Enterprises, the company which owns both sites.
Although both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet players they still retain their own unique features. Able to choose between two distinct software experiences, depending on their tastes. Basically, this move is set to help increase the traffic at both sites, while maintain each company's core values. You will now be able to play against someone from Ultimate Bet while on Absolute (and vice versa) but still be able to use the rooms specific features or promotions.
The two established faces of the CEREUS network are greatly improved by a shared tournament structure, offering enough variety in styles and limits to cater to any player. For example, Absolute's largest weekly tournament is their $150,000 guaranteed every Saturday. Ultimate Bet's is their $200,000 guaranteed every Sunday. Because these two sites are merging, you can expect these tournaments to offer even larger guarantees once everything is set. Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet also share promotions, enabling greater choice and value of service.
The top priority for many players tempted by the new network will be increased security measures. CEREUS promises an all-new 24/7 state of the art security center, including a feature which automatically tracks hands in order to identify abnormal winning statistics. The forming of this new network has also meant the combination of the support and payment processing for both Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker.
Although both clients will retain a lot of their unique flavor, they both share some exciting new features. Top tournament players will be happy to see the introduction of deal making for final tables. Tournament fiends will also enjoy a new window which tracks all tournaments you are registered for, so you don't forget about that $5 satellite you signed up for last week. Serious players should also benefit from improved hand history and an optimized time bank.
One unique addition, which should satisfy the thrill-seeker, is the new rabbit-cam. This lets you peek at what cards would have come out had the hand gone to showdown. New table views and downloadable skins allow users on both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet greater control over the appearance of their personal client. One important change for cash game players is the shift towards 9-player tables. Most tables on offer for No-Limit Hold 'em are 6-max or 9-max, with little to no full ring games available.
The increase in action and choice that has resulted from the combination of these has added another poker giant to the online scene. One other important thing to note is both of these rooms still plan on accepting US players from all locations. This will not change, and all players are still welcome!
