Cake Poker Network
Cake Poker are one of the youngest online poker companies operating today. They were founded in 2004, with the aim of crafting an online poker client a cut above the rest. A small passionate team spent two years working on their own network and poker client, eventually launching both in 2006. Since then they have undergone a massive expansion. The Cake Poker client is currently one of the most popular on the internet and the Cake Poker network has become host to a wide variety of skins and branded poker rooms.
The network is owned by Cake Gaming N.V., a firm incorporated in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. They obtain both a gaming license and hosting services from Cyberluck, one of the most popular online gambling support companies in the Dutch Antilles. As part of their modern approach to online poker, Cake Gaming have made a strong commitment to security and responsibility. Their shuffling randomness has been approved by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and is controlled by the Microsoft CryptoAPI RNG. They also have detailed information for problem gambling and the list the many ways in which they and other organizations can help those affected.
When Cake Poker arrived in 2006 their network hosted only one room. In a very short time they have amassed a total of 35 different skins, all running games on the Cake Poker Network. This rapid accent has left them in the top 10 poker networks in the world and they show no signs of showing down. They recently added Doyle’s Room to their portfolio, the site fronted by poker legend Doyle Brunson.
Cake are one of the few networks still accepting US players, something that has formed a big part of their recent success. Despite being one of the youngest networks in the industry they are also one of the most successful. With peak player totals of between 7,500 and 9,000 every day, it seems that the only way is up.
