Ladbrokes Poker Network
Ladbrokes has always been an excellent option for folks in the UK, but has recently got even better. They already had a huge brick and mortar presence across the globe, mostly in Europe (with over 2,000 shops), so taking that to the internet was a simple task. Ladbrokes is part of Ladbrokes plc, the world's leading sports betting and gaming company.
Everything to do with gambling and betting can be found at Ladbrokes. They offer anything from Sports Betting, to Poker, Backgammon, a full Online Casino, and even Bingo. Known primarily for sports betting, they have one of the largest and most trusted sportsbook online today. However, their poker room is also starting to grow. Initially, Ladbrokes Poker had launched on a poker network which contained multiple other sites, sharing the same traffic. It wasn't until late in 2007 that Ladbrokes released a brand new upgrade to their poker room and their own poker network.
Their new poker software was pretty different from what they originally offered, to say the least. They created a complete 3D environment and have real life animations for nearly everything at the tables. It seems 3D poker rooms are becoming more popular lately, and Ladbrokes has taken that to a new level. The response to this new software has very good, and they even won a few awards; including the 2007 Gold Award for best poker software from Gambling Online Magazine.
Unfortunately, Ladbrokes is unable to accept customers from the United States because of the UIGEA passed in 2006. They still have a decent player base, focusing on European players, and generally have 5,000 or more players connected at once. This is a fairly good number since Ladbrokes Poker currently only uses their own poker room and is not shared with others. If you are outside the US and are interested in what Ladbrokes has to offer, I strongly suggest trying out their software now!
