Merge Gaming Poker Network
Merge Gaming Network is one of the newest online poker networks today, formed in February of 2007. Originally, the Merge Gaming Network was headed by the poker room and network, Poker.com. The Merge Gaming Network is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission; which is the holder of more than 300 online poker and casino rooms.
Even though the network is new, the player base is not. The software has been around since 2005 with the launch of the network Poker.com. Early in 2007 Poker.com made the decision to change its business model, and created the new poker network. The main reason for this change was the large difference in the Poker.com website, which is now no longer an online poker room in itself. The site now functions as a poker portal, with updates and news about poker. Merge Gaming Network is still ran by the same management as its previous network.
The Merge Gaming Network has at least 3 poker rooms that use its software, with plans of adding more in the months to come. With the release of this new network, there has been a recent growth and on average there is about 6000+ players connected.
Merge Gaming Network is one of the current networks that still accepts US players since the gambling legislation that was passed in 2006.
Even though the Merge Gaming Network is one of the newest poker networks by name, it definitely isn’t new. By “merging” Poker.com with other sites and with plans of adding more skins, the old player base should drastically increase in numbers.
