PartyPoker Network
The PartyPoker Network is owned and operated by PartyGaming, Plc., founded in 1997.
Since 30 June 2005, PartyGaming Plc has been listed on The London Stock Exchange under the ticker: PRTY and has a market capitalisation of over $10 billion.
Regulated and licensed by the Government of Gibraltar, the Group has over 1,200 employees located in the head office and operations centre in Gibraltar, a business process outsourcing operation in Hyderabad, India and a marketing services subsidiary in London. The Group has customers in over 170 countries.
The PartyPoker Network once shared players and traffic with its licensees - Empire Poker, Intertops Poker, Eurobet Poker,
and MultiPoker. However, in late 2005, PartyPoker announced it would be splitting from these other "skins", and taking
its players with them. This split created two distinct poker networks - the PartyPoker Network and the PartyPoker Skins
Network, which kept all the skins together. This drastic move has caused reverberations throughout the industry,
and the changes are not yet over. In Novemeber of 2005, Eurobet announced that it would be moving off the PartyPoker
license and technology and PartyPoker announced it would be purchasing Intertops Poker and MultiPoker. The fate of
Empire Poker is still unknown.
The PartyPoker Network is the largest network of poker players, both before the separation and even after. PartyPoker
continues to be the largest online poker room, however PokerStars is a close second. Once PartyPoker incorporates
Intertops and MultiPoker, it will further increase its size and status as the largest poker room in the world.
