World 3D Poker Network
The World 3D Poker Network is one of the newest poker networks today. Just recently launched in 2007, they are operated by Nostell Services Ltd and regulated by the government of Costa Rica.
World 3D Poker claims that the revolution in internet gambling has arrived with the launch of its poker room, World3DPoker. Currently, World3DPoker is the only online poker room that uses this software (there are no other skins in the network.) At this new poker room, you can create more than just a nickname; you can create an actual custom 3D character to play with at the tables. Their website states, “This 3D environment is the closest you'll get to actually being in Vegas competing with random customers, all from the comfort of your home computer. Play as yourself and save your character, be recognized every time you come back.”
Even though they might have a unique approach to online poker, their traffic is slim. At times, there can be less than 5 people playing real money games on the World 3D Poker network. However, they are currently working on increasing their traffic by implementing newer features in hopes to stand out from the competition. They hold integrity high, and claim that “The random number generator used by World3DPoker ensures true random results and has been thoroughly tested by running millions of rounds and examining results.”
World 3D Poker is one of the current networks that does NOT accept US players since the gambling legislation that was passed in 2006. (You can create an account for play money only.)
We have seen other poker rooms that started with this same approach, and have achieved some success in the online world. Only time will tell if World 3D Poker will catch on or fail because currently its name is not known to very many online players. If it can increase its player base there could be a future for this network.
